Biografía

Ariel Pérez Rodríguez (Santa Clara, Cuba, 1976). Writer, essayist and translator. President of the Hispanic Jules Verne Society. In 2007 he founded the magazine Mundo Verne, of which he is the director and editor. For more than twenty years he has been dedicated to research on the life and work of the French writer. He has published articles on Verne's themes in several Spanish, French and English-speaking countries. He has published the books “Viaje al centro del Verne desconocido” (2010), “Jules Verne: dos siglos después” (2011), “Jules Verne dans le Figaro Illustré” (2020) and “Jules Verne: un viaje extraordinario” (2024). He has translated into Spanish several unpublished texts by Jules Verne, which have been compiled in volumes published in Spain and Cuba, the most recent being “Edgar Poe y sus obras” (2020), “Una fantasía del Doctor Ox” (2022) and “Un cura en 1835” (2024).
