As its name indicates, the first book by guatemalan writer Byron Quiñónez contains six short tales. The writing style is very clean and fluid, with touches of irony and dry humor. The themes range from horror to dark poetry and nihilism. Quiñónez's second and third books, El Perro en Llamas (The Dog in Flames), and Aquí siempre es de noche (It's Always Night Here) are part of his Detective Rosanegra noir trilogy.
