Photographer and performance artist Veronika Marquez (b. Montevideo, Uruguay 1979) multiplies herself into two beings, which are her past and her present and coexist inside her. Her project "Camila" is an attempt to reconcile these two parts of her life story. The artist worked as a prostitute starting at a very young age, taking the alias Camila. Years later while studying photography, she created her project where "Inevitably Veronika and Camila start to find commonality and decide to return to the source of the conflict, where their separation is forged: Montevideo. They travel as tourists, tirelessly visiting step-by-step, every corner featured in tour guides for this evocative and attractive city"--Page [7]. The category "Libros fotográficos de autor" (photographic books by the author), includes an author from Uruguay (UY), from Latin America (LA) and / or from Fotolibro. The selection was determined by a jury composed by Julieta Escard (Argentina), selected by the CdF as a juror in Latin America; Diego Velazco (Uruguay) elected by the CdF as a juror in Uruguay; and Gustavo Wojciechowski (Uruguay)
