The Sinfully Gorgeous Detective... It was an unusual assignment John-Trevor Payton had agreed to handle for wealthy, eccentric Colonel Blackstone: find and get to know Paisley Kane, the man's daughter by a beautiful Frenchwoman who'd been too much of a free spirit to marry him so long ago! The colonel wanted to make Paisley his heir, to share his remaining years with her--but would instant riches bring her happiness or despair? When Paisley knocked John-Trevor into a snowdrift and fell into his arms, he was delighted by the spirited imp who treasured a stained-glass rainbow and believed that fate would decide when shed fall in love. She'd surrounded herself with a patchwork family of nutty boarders in her Denver house, and John-Trevor envied her pleasure in the people she cared for--and the sweet passion he'd awakened. He had believed he had no dreams of a family and enduring love... until now. But would Paisley have to choose between a fortune and the man who was destined to be hers?
