Could A Man Who'd Lost His Past Offer A Woman A Future? Until he saw Meggie MacIntyre riding bareback before the wagons like some Amazon of the prairie, Hawken hadn't pondered the question. Now life on the trail eking out an existence as a mountain man seemed as empty as his stolen memory. A man who claimed no memories could be easily persuaded to create new ones, Meggie MacIntyre decided. And looking at Hawken, she wanted to make some memories of her own with him, even if he might have forgotten another life - including a wife - somewhere along the way west.
