MR. APRIL Grumpy Man: Construction engineer Jake Hatcher -- long, lean loner. Rarely smiles. Doesn't talk much, either. Reason to Frown: A bittersweet memory of a family that no longer is. Reason to Smile: Single mom Libby Porter and her young son. Heck if Jake Hatcher knew what kept bringing him back to Libby Porter's house. Gap-toothed, pear-shaped and too darn nice, the pretty blonde could do just fine without someone like him. More, Libby had a son who reminded Jake of another little boy...Yet still, nothing made him feel better than having Libby holding one of his hands, while her son reached up for the other...
