Three abandoned orphans, one missing heiress ... When elderly communications magnate Owen Byrnside learned that twenty-six years earlier his only son had fathered a daughter, he yearned to locate his heir. It wouldn't be easy: the night the girl's mother abandoned the baby at a foundling home, two other infants were left there, as well! It didn't take long to track down the first orphan: Kate Humphrey, a jazz pianist performing in London. But contacting her was another story. It seemed Kate was in Italy, hiding out from hired assassins in the company of an extremely handsome steeplechase jockey named Nick Conti....
