An electronic book with animated color maps presenting rainfall data over time. "This is a primary source of information on recent rainfall in Mexico. Animations (.avi) of monthly images of SPI (Standardized Precipitation Index) show how rain has varied. Animations of SP-1, -2, -3, -4, -5, -6, -9, -12, -24 and -48 months are included. Images were formed by kriging of monthly values of precipitation, taken from the CD-ROM Eric 2 with some corrections (Quintas, 2000). These were converted to contour diagrams, and joined to form animations for convenient viewing. Additionally, there are articles interpreting droughts and episodes of excess rain, as well as time series of SPI for the zones of Mexico. All the source data are included"--Technical summary page.
