This work is based on a qualitative research project on two reading clubs in Bogotá, carried out in the Luvina bookstore and the El Tunal, or Gabriel García Márquez, Public Library. The text uses a sociological approach to analyze the relationship between reading practices and economic and cultural resources, seeking to fill a gap in the study of inequalities in reading practices in Colombia with a qualitative approach. The research used participatory observation, audio recordings of club meetings, and in-depth interviews. The text is divided into three parts that explore, first, differences in the resources of each club and its members; second, differences in the ways of reading and commenting on texts; and third, the reading profiles of some attendees at a reading club.
