One little candle was all that was left. A single flame to flicker over a dead body. Legend said it was Old Dandy's candle-the monument to love kindled by the ghost of the long-dead slave long ago. But that love changed. The light now cast a new eerie glow. A glow of fear and foreboding. And now that candle was lit for Mari, the new bride...for Mari, Leigh's second wife...Mari doomed to die by the Douglass curse.
