Part diary, part essay, The Mantle is a wonderful reflection on death and loss. Marcela Serrano addresses the mourning of her sister's death with a heart-rending and poignant account. Everything that happened during the year following this experience is disclosed by the author in this diary where, simultaneously, she intersperses readings about death that accompanied her during this arduous process. Done in the same poetic and informal universe that has defined her work, in The Mantle Marcela Serrano writes a moving reflection on death and affection.--Publisher's web site.
