Memory and conflict seem to be an inseparable pair. Especially when it comes to the construction of narratives concerning violent past. In Latin America they have thus demonstrated not only the controversial nature of the memories of the past dictatorial and internal conflicts in recent history, but also the memories of past colonial armed conflicts. At issue are not only the multiple meanings of these past conflicts, but also the means and resources required for the construction and presentation of reports. The articles in this compilation analyzed from various disciplinary approaches a sample of local experiences in their respective conflicts in Colombia, Mexico, El Salvador, Peru, Argentina.
