It was only after Antonia had inherited the house that strange things began to happen. Yet how could she connect disaster with that fantastic and unexpected legacy - the famous scandal-ridden Standish place in Brooklyn Heights? But there was a connection. Antonia did not know it then, but from the moment of the phone call telling her of her "good luck", her life and her son's were in the greatest danger. Because of this, Antonia had very little time to think about the man who had once loved her - the man who had changed her whole life. And could change it again. Anyway, there was absolutely no connection between him and the house. Or was there? Also published as: The Standish Place
