Finding herself under the unlikely guardianship of the kind but shambolic Duke of Holbrook, Tess Essex is faced with her duty: marry well and marry quickly. She can then arrange matches for her younger sisters Annabel, Imogen and Josephine. All is going well until Tess's fiance gets cold feet, and one of her sisters elopes with a reckless young lord - and perhaps Tess is not as sensible and proper as she thought she ways? Lucius Felton is a rogue, but he is both delicious and wealthy. Can she really be contemplating marriage to one of London's most infamous rakes?
