There was no man in Dominique’s life – and there wasn’t going to be; as soon as she could, she was going to become a nun, and live for others – turning a deaf ear to her sister Candice’s insistence that the only thing that mattered to a woman was to live for one man; after all, despite being so much more attractive than Dominique, Candice wasn’t very happy in her marriage, was she? Was Dominique kidding herself, though? And if not, why did she find Candice’s brother-in-law Presidio so disturbing?
