"Fascinating book. First section is an introduction that traces the historic and artistic antecedents for colonial and conventual iconography and features paintings of Sor Juana by her contemporaries. Second section includes a brief biography as well as contemporary images of Sor Juana and artistic representations inspired by her work and life"--Handbook of Latin American Studies, v. 58.
