"This Norton Critical Edition of The Odyssey is an unabridged edition featuring the Emily Wilson translation done in iambic pentameter with the same number of lines as the original Greek tale. The poem follows the path of Odysseus as he makes his way back from Troy and the trials his wife and son face protecting their home from ruin. The "Contexts" in this Norton Critical Edition provide readers with a better understanding of the fullness of Greek mythology and its presence in the Homeric world. "Criticism" explores the composition and use of characterization in The Odyssey, ranging from thematic issues in the work to the enduring question of who its original author was. Suggestions on Further Reading are also included"--
