Lucille Lamb had plenty to put up with in her job as secretary-dogsbody to the temperamental film star Shani Sharon — but, she reminded herself, she had deliberately chosen the job, knowing it would give her unlimited opportunities for travel and the added bonus of the glamorous world of films. What she hadn’t bargained for was that it would also bring her into the world of Tareq Hawke, dynamic actor, connoisseur of beautiful women. It didn’t seem likely that ‘The Hawk’ would bother himself with a nonentity like Lucille — which was why she hardly realised how he had ruthlessly forced her into becoming betrothed and then married to him! But it had, somehow, happened. What were Lucille’s real feelings? Would she ever come to care for the domineering man who was now her husband?
