If you think that poetry has to be sweet and nice and romantic, think again. Step into the dark world of Edgar Allan Poe. Well known for his spine-tingling, spooky stories that are even more chilling than today's horror movies, Poe also wrote poems that expressed the shadowy regions of his mind. More than twenty of his poems and selections from his stories, accompanied by mood-setting, full-color drawings and notes that make his work easier to understand, are creaky doors opening the way into the many-chambered passage of this great American writer's talents. --back cover
