Geomechanical properties and engineering techniques taken into consideration during the construction of an urban tunnel for the metro in Bogotá, the first engineering work of this magnitude in the country. The construction of the tunnels represents a challenge for the bulldozers and for the Colombian geotechnics in the danger of subsidence damage to the symbolic Basilica Sanctuary Archdiocese of our Lady of Lourdes and the possibility of finding archaeological finds while work is in progress.
