In the beginning, the Reverend Jesse Custer was just another small-town minister squandering his days and drinking away his nights. But then came Genesis--a rampaging spirit that merged with Jesse's soul and tore both his life and his congregation apart. Now Jesse has a new mission: to track down an absent God and make Him answer for his deeds. Armed with the power of Genesis and supported by his love Tulip and his Irish vampire pal Cassidy, Jesse has survived his initial encounters with Heaven's unstoppable assassin, the Saint of Killers, and the all-pervasive global conspiracy known as the Grail. But as the three searchers close in on their divine quarry, their adversaries are regrouping--after their next meeting no one will be left unscathed.
