When Ellen Webb leaves her home in Utah to marry handsome Italian Maurizio Ferrini, her friends think she's the luckiest woman in the world. After all, she would soon have a sexy husband, a darling child and an ancestral villa in Tuscany. If they only knew that within several years, the sad woman now known as Eliana would be desperately unhappy, married to an unfaithful, emotionally abusive man who uses their sickly son to keep her in a loveless union. But Eliana's life changes when fellow American Ross Story rents a room in her villa.
