In this novel that was completed before his death last year, Carías puts forward his empathy and attachment to a place: the terroir, the "homeland girl." Indeed, the author has a deep emotional connection with our region, whose peculiarities, distinctive features and language are captured, apprehended and transmitted to the reader. He explores the interlinings of the private and public life of his paternal grandfather and his father, and evokes his own youth immune to the wear and tear of the years. They are the 3 Villalobos, a name that is rescued from the pseudonym "Rodolfo Villalobos" used by his father.
