Offers new data and insights into construction of ethnic identity and role of school and educational processes in pluricultural contexts. Based on field research in Mexican municipality near Guatemalan border where ethnicities of both countries--Tojolabal, Tsotsil and Q'anjobales--come together in one space. Considers both regular and bilingual (intercultural) primary education and practices and attitudes among both students and faculty.
