In this important volume, edited by historians at the Auschwitz State Museum, three German SS men record their parts in the workings of the extermination camps and the events that they witnessed. They are the first commandant of Auschwitz, an SS man in the camp's Political Section, and a medical doctor assigned to making selections for the gas chamber.
