There is little information about the life of the conqueror and chronicler of Mexico, Bernal Díaz del Castillo author of the admirable story, "La Historia verdadera dela Conquista de la Nueva España". What little was known with certainty of his biography, was limited to matters concerning his permanence in the New World -news taken from documents from the period of the Conquest and from later moments- as well as to elements collected from his own chronicle.
