Texts from the autobiography of this controversial eighteenth-century theologian with seven of his sermons. Each represents a pivotal point or a crisis in Edwards's career. Taken together they illustrate his revival of Calvinism when many of the clergymen of his day were preaching a much laxer form of religion. Three of his main philosophical works are also excerpted.
