The story of Ana Antonia Rosario, Tonó, like that of all the people who stood side by side, actively and supportively, of opposing and persecuted families in the 31 years of the bloody dictatorship of Rafael Leónidas Trujillo, is a story of heroism. This companion, sister, friend, nanny, of the Mirabal Reyes family and their offspring, was from a very young age on the edge of all the joys and tears of her, shoulder to shoulder with all of them in the days that preceded the tragedy forever enmeshed in the Dominican people, the continent and the whole world: the murder of Patria, Minerva and María Teresa Mirabal. Then, a heroism that grew during the terrible days that followed. - Page 19
