A summer at her cousins' home turns to near catastrophe when Miss Evangeline Plympton falls victim to her own overactive imagination! An avid fan of Gothic novels, she fears she's stepped into a plot straight out of The Captive Bride. Was her aunt scheming to marry her off to save the family estate? Why did her brooding cousin Gerard leer at her so? Was she indeed their prisoner unless she accepted his unwanted marriage proposal? Whether her plight is real of imagined, it takes a genuine hero, handsome Edwin Hale, to rescue a damsel in distress and to show her how splendid real love can be.
