The book presents a small sample of the photographs taken by Mario Roa during his early years of photojournalism. As an independent press photographer, he traveled all over the country searching for stories of national interest. The archive of Mario Roa is a visual chronicle of life in Costa Rica. The negatives constitute a modern history of Costa Rica illustrating official and diplomatic events, news, sports, protests, entertainment, and the changing political parties.
